Was looking to purchase a 2006 900 STX. Was getting a demo on the trailer and had the RPM hang up when the steering was full left or right on several occations. I saw there was a secondary throttle control linkage that ran forward to a circular coil, but could not understand why it was pulling on the throttle with the steering. The throttle it self was at idle when this was happening. If the steering was straight then this would not occurr.

I would like to figure this out before I lay out the money for this ski. The owner had no clue and said this never had happened before.

Thanks for the feedback!

phil, if the revs increase when the steering is being fully turned left and then right, it acts as a boost to aid steering when in the water, as the craft wont steer at idle speed. I hope this answers ur question, and if the owner told u it hadnt happened b4, thats more reason to be carefull, cus it should kick in every time the steering fully turned.
