Hey guys, new to the forum - glad to be apart of your community!

My buddy and I want to buy a pair of wave runners. We're probably going to buy this weekend and we've come across two pairs we are considering. We're going to look at them tomorrow.

But I want the opinion of the community - which ones should we go for?

A pair of 1995 SeaDoo Bombardier SP

or

A pair of 1994 Tigershark Montegos

Both are in a comparable price range, the Tigershark's are a little less. Both pairs appear to have been relatively well maintained - and come with a trailer.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!

I wouldn't depend on a tigershark, i've heard alot of horror stories from them, best to go seadoo.
Thanks for your feedback! A buddy of mine thats an experienced rider said basically the same thing. He said "Don't even waste your time, they ARE as bad as they look..."

We checked out a few different ones today with my buddy tagging along, and after he gave us his experienced opinion; we've pretty much decided on the Sea-Doos.

Will probably pick them up within the next few days!

tigershark or seadoo

you made the right decision, remember with the Tigershark ,its a ski they have,nt produced in 10-11 yrs, but with surge of the internet, finding parts, blogging with fellow owners you can have a "classic" ski to play around with, i've never ridden one but guys that have say there a fun ski(wavejumping etc) unfortunately not much in high performance aftermarket parts, good luck

We bought our skis. We didn't end up going with the 95 SP's because we came across a pair of immaculate 92 XP's that have practically new engines from SBT in 2006. One ski has five hours, the other has ten hours... Let's not forget that the XP's feature variable trim as well!

Not only did we get skis that look brand new (besides the retro styling) but we got engines that ARE new. And it cost us MUCH less than those SP's we originally considered....

Excited to go ride. =)
