I am missing my trigger finger on my right hand due to a recent accident and now fatigue quickly using my middle finger to hold on and run the throttle. Has anyone replaced their throttle with a thumb throttle say from a Sea Doo, or had a shop make a modification, or switched the controls from one side to the other?:tango_face_glasses:
Bo,
Welcome aboard.
I've never done this to a jet ski. But it can be done. I converted a 4wheeler from thumb throttle to a twist throttle years back. It wasn't to difficult. Just needed a throttle off a motorcycle.
So that being said. I would think changing to the other side would be real easy. If you got a thumb throttle off eBay cheep you may be able to make it work. Or get an idea for what will be needed to do it.
Bo, I just had a sudden thought. It may be possible to turn your current finger throttle around to make it a thumb throttle.
Something else that may work is an EZ-Throttle. It's an extension that goes on the existing throttle. Check it out at EZ-Throttle.com.
