I have a Kawasaki stx-12f (2007) and I have noticed that the hours counter on the lcd seems to rack up hours at a higher rate than expected.
After talking with a local jetski mechanic, he assured me that it should be reading 'hours done by the engine'. After some testing I am nearly 100% sure that the meter actually records the total hours the LCD has been on. This might sound trivial, but if you are fishing on it for a day, stopping and starting often, every time you turn off, it is recording time until the LCD turns off.
The difference being from under 1 hour to over 3 or 4 hours.
Can anyone shed some light on this topic?
