Hey guys, friend has a 90 or 91 x2 with the 650 motor. Just got it all back together and after it sits for 2-3 days battery is dead. Have tried with 2 different batteries so I am pretty sure it isn't the battery. Cables are good. When you hook up the pos and neg cables to battery there is a momentary spark so it would seem to me there is a draw as my 650 stand up is just about identical and does not do that. What could cause a draw on this system???? Thanks in advance. :dunno:

Battery

If the pos. & neg. connections are sparking when connecting to battery its a wiring problem probably you got a dead short somewhere you;ll have to go through systematicaly.

Take a multimeter and hook it in series with your ground wire. Then you can go through and unhook connections to find the draw. Have had an X2, fun machine, but had no issues. Would guess starter solenoid? Follow your positive back and find what is hooked to it. Maybe it's the cdi box.
