I just purchased a 2017 Yamaha VX Cruiser HO 1.8 and am looking to do some performance upgrades. Can anyone help me better understand the performance (additional top-end, acceleration, HP) I can expect out of the following upgrades. I'm also concerned about voiding my warranty. Can you confirm if any of the upgrades below will void my warranty?

1. Riva Rear Exhaust Kit RY15061
2. Riva Free Flow Exhaust Kit RY16060
Whats the difference between the two exhaust kits. I know that one is thru-hull, but is that the only difference? Are there any issues I should be concerned about when adding a thru-hull exhaust?

3. Riva Power Filter Kit RY13062

Besides Maptuning (which will void my warranty), what other upgrades do you recommend to increase performance?

Hi there

Nice choice of Ski !

I spoke to my local dealer and he said yamaha can get funny about some modifications and can refuse cover on warranty if they deam the modification to be at fault. Better safe that sorry you know

Id personally, if you are worried about losing any cover, one do modifications that can be swapped back to stock if you have any issues before its returned to the dealer. Id avoid the thru hull for now as its pretty obvious to the dealer , but the filter and stuff are simple swap jobs.

what yamaha dont know cant hurt

Might be worth taking out your flash arrester in the intake too, its kinda a recommended mod on the N/A 1.8. there are loads of tutorials on youtube. It sharpens throttle response, I noticed quite a difference.

hope this helps

Enjoy the Ski !!
