I have a 2008 Yamaha VX deluxe with only 100 hours. When the ski lands after going over a wave it goes into shutdown mode. I have to turn the ski off for a minute and restart . Then the ski is fine until it lands hard again. Does anybody have any suggestions?
Have you checked battery straps and any cables, it sounds like you have something that may be loose, does it happen no matter how much fuel is in the tank ?
It's a hard one to try and diagnose from so little information.
Check all connections and battery, is my only recommendation.
If that all good then try the boxes that hold all your electronics open it up and see if it's sealed properly, no water in there, and check all straps and connections.
Water splashing around shouldn't be the problem unless it's in a place it shouldn't be as the Ski is made to hold some water in it's hull and is why they have a bilge system .
Is the fuel tank solid.
Maybe spray all connectors with a good waterproof electrical spray ?
Good luck, it's probably something really simple as we all tend to look for complicated problems first
