1100 zxi backfire
Your timing is not adjustable it is preset by a pickup coil by the flywheel and it adjusts itself via the cdi. You backfire is being caused by a lean fuel condition either clogged carbs aor bad fuel. Are you using any ethanol based fuel, if so it has a self life of only about 4 months. also check the plug wires they are prone to burning out right near the cap,you should have about 8.5K ohms between each cap and ground, if not take off the cap a little bit at a time until you get a good solid core and reinstall the plug caps have a screw thread so you need to lube them up with something i.e. brakleen that was it will evaporated off helping hold them on. hope this helps
