2010 FX-Cruiser SHO trouble

Yesterday, I was out on my ski, maybe for about an hour of use, varying speeds, when all of a sudden, it went into limp mode with error light and no throttle response at all. Stuck at 3-4 mph. I limped it back to shore, and turned it off. Now it won't start at all. Let it sit about an hour and still nothing, have checked battery and connections. I checked the built in diagnostics and it gave me error code 115. (Throttle Position Sensor?)

Any ideas on what I might be able check first before having take it to dealer?

Thanks,
Flip

Just a fellow enthusiast here but the first suspicion I would have would be dirty terminals and/or bad electrical connection. If you can find a reference to the path of the electrical circuits, using a multi-meter you can then check the continuity through the circuits. Check the mechanical operation of course

Ok, did a little more research, and found a more specific list of codes, it says code 115 is actually, ETV ETS (Throttle Valve Open). I originally looked at the service manual which gives a more generic "Electronic Throttle System Malfunction"

Thanks,

Well you have to do what is best for you. If it were mine, the first item I would trouble shoot would be the Throttle Position Sensor TPS. I would test it (mechanically and electrically) and verify that it is working properly. If it is not working properly I would fix it or replace it

If you have the manual, it might have the test specs for the tps. That was my first thought of what the problem was. I saw the same description for the 115 code. I've been seeing a few of posts from different websites about tps and throttle body failures lately.
