Why Am I Getting So Little Oil???

2019 VX Cruiser
1st Oil Change

I'm using an electric pump to evacuate the oil from my VX Cruiser and the picture of the gallon milk jug below is all the oil I can get out. I don't see any more oil down the hole, either.

I'm going to let it sit overnight to see if any more oil collects.

Any clues as to A) why I might not be getting more oil out of there; B) How to get more out?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Dock
Your not draining the whole engine. There is still some in the sump, and figure the filter is going to hold about 1/2 quart, but looks like your only getting half. I don't have a manual for yours, so I don't know the quantity. Might try tilting the ski to make the engine higher then the tank.

Eureka! It turns out that I wasnít following the correct procedure! I had watched two YouTube videos and they were both missing 1/2 the process. Thereís a tube at the top that youíre supposed to stick your evacuation tube in as well as the yellow, bottom fill hole. That was 1/2 the oil right there.

awesome. good looking out. that stopped you from overfilling it too likely. I have the 1.8, not TR1 but if it was the oil change youtube video with the teenager you were watching... , they grille this kid in the comments for that very reason. Definitely beware of internet advice lol. Service manuals are helpful.

Unfortunately it was the teenager 🏼

However, you’ll be pleased to know that I put my service manual on order this evening 👍🏼
