Gas gauge problem/Oil question

This problem is on a 2014 FX HO. I noticed this summer while riding that the gas gauge does not change until I shut the machine down. I will ride for an hour without the level dropping on the gauge. I will then shut the ski down. Once I restart, the gauge will drop and then shows the actual level. When I fill it up the gauge does go to full. It doesn't effect performance but I don't want to run out of gas. Anyone have this happen before?

I also have a 2010 FX Cruiser HO. Does the oil need to be hot when checking the oil level. Also, on the dip stick there is a small hashed out area for high and low level. Does anyone know how much oil will raise the level from low to high on the stick.
